Talcum powder is derived from talc, a white or pale-green mineral consisting of hydrated magnesium silicate. It is most often found in baby powders. Talcum powder acts as an absorptive, lubricating and odor-covering product, but with small capabilities. Talcum powder can be safely used, however, in a baby's diaper, on anyone's skin, and inside shoes to assist with foot dryness and odor.
